Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mariana Gospodinova graduated from Medical University of Sofia in 1987. She has acquired specialties in “internal diseases” and in “cardiology”. Assoc. Prof. Gospodinova holds a PhD in cardiology from Medical University of Sofia (Thesis: “Cardiac Involvement in Hereditary Neuromuscular”). From 1992 to 2014 Assoc. Prof. Gospodinova was an Assistant Professor (1992-2002) and Chief Assistant Professor (2002 – 2014) at the Clinic of Cardiology, University Hospital “Alexandrovska”, Medical University, Sofia. In the period between 2008 and 2014 she was Head of the Department for Non-invasive Diagnostics in Cardiology, Clinic of Cardiology, University Hospital “Alexandrovska”. From 2014 to 2020 she worked at the Clinic of Cardiology, Medical Institute at the Ministry of Interior, Sofia, where she was Head of Cardiac Intensive Care Unit. Since October 2020, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gospodinova is part of the team of University Hospital “St. Ivan Rilski” as Consulting Cardiologist and Head of Cardiac Amyloidosis Reference Center and Expert Center for Hereditary Transthyretin Amyloidosis.
Some other qualifications: Transthoracic, Transesophageal, Stress Echocardiography Certificate, Holter ECG and ECG stress test certificates, ESC and EACVI Certificate in TTE (Transthoracic Echocardiography).
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mariana Gospodinova is a member of: Bulgarian Society of Cardiology (BSC), European Society of Cardiology (ESC), Working group on Myocardial and Pericardial Diseases at ESC, Bulgarian Society of Neuro-muscular Disorders, and she is Head of the Working Group on Myocardial and Pericardial Diseases at Bulgarian Society of Cardiology.
