Dr. Maria Escala-Garcia is a Consultant in the Genomic and Precision Medicine team at IQVIA.
As a health-tech enthusiast, Maria is passionate about finding ways of using healthcare information and technological advances for public and social benefit. As part of her current role, she provides technical expertise in multiple genomic and precision medicine opportunities and engages with academic and government institutions in the regions of Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
Maria has a background in bioinformatics and genetic epidemiology. Prior to joining IQVIA, she worked at the Netherlands Cancer Institute in Amsterdam, where she received her PhD and gained extensive knowledge in the fields of translational research, clinical oncology, and epidemiology. After her academic experience, she worked as a business analyst in the healthcare software development sector, offering consulting services to pharma companies, academic and public organizations in the fields of healthcare data (Genomics, Multi-omics and Real-world data) and med-tech software.
