Magdalena Daccord is Chief Executive of FH Europe, the European Network of patient organizations advocating for people living with familial hyperlipidaemias. Most of them are serious inherited cardiovascular risk factors which lead to premature heart attacks, strokes and even death.
Prior to joining FH Europe, Magdalena led the EMEA operations at DIA (Drug Information Association). Before joining the non-profit sector, she worked for over 7 years in the pharmaceutical industry in the orphan drugs and rare diseases space. Alongside her professional life, Magdalena has been actively volunteering with organizations close to her heart – Healthcare Businesswomen Association, Thrive with Mentoring and BeBold as well as local sports organisations. Since 2020, Magdalena sits on the European Advisory Board for HBA Europe.
In her efforts to continuously improve her knowledge and skills in patient advocacy, Magdalena regularly participates in educational programmes for patient representatives and advocates like the EURORDIS Summer and Winter School, the European Patients Forum training, etc. Next on her advocacy training bucket list is the EUPATI Fellows Programme.
In her spare time, Magdalene enjoys her time with her family gardening, hiking, playing badminton in the local club and reading – mostly novels that make her laugh or history books.
