Seema Patel is a Medical Science Liaison at Genomind – a unique personalized medicine platform that brings innovation to healthcare around the world. Genomind, comprised of pioneering scientists and thought leaders in psychiatry, neurology and genetics, delivers actionable insights to clinicians, healthcare partners and individuals in order to improve the quality of human life. Using her expertise in pharmacogenetics and psychopharmacology, Dr. Patel provides clinical consultations for pharmacogenetic test result interpretation to providers treating patients with mental health conditions. She is also responsible for enhancing and updating technological platforms and pharmacogenetic tests to improve the delivery of mental health.
Prior to joining the team at Genomind, she worked as a clinical psychiatric pharmacist at Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates/Atrius Health in a Collaborative Drug Therapy Management (CDTM) clinic, working with and treating patients with psychiatric disorders. She is a Board Certified Psychiatric Pharmacist and licensed to practice in North Carolina and Massachusetts.
Seema Patel earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree (PharmD) from the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia. Post-graduation, she completed two years of residency, a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at Carolina Medical Center and a PGY2 Psychiatric Pharmacy Residency at Virginia Commonwealth University Health System. Her experiences focused on performing psychiatric interviews, treatment assessment, and evidence-based recommendations on multidisciplinary rounds, teaching lectures at VCU School of Pharmacy, and performing drug utilization reviews and order verification on psychiatric patient care services.
