Branimir Brankov is the Managing Director for MSD in the Balkan cluster of eleven countries in South-Eastern Europe.
Branimir is also a member of the MSD Mid-Europe (MER Region) Leadership Team.
Branimir’s long career in the healthcare and pharmaceutical industry has spanned over several positions and regions globally. He started as a Neurosurgeon in the ICU of Medical Academy in Sofia, Bulgaria. Shortly after, Branimir joined MSD as Managing Director of MSD Bulgaria. In 2001 Branimir reallocated to USA, to join MSD World Human Health Marketing (WHHM-GHH) in MSD HQ in New Jersey. At MSD HQ, Branimir began his tenure as Marketing and Market Research Lead for Anti-infective and Cardiovascular franchises. He led MSD also Global Scientific Leaders Communities of Practice Identification and collaboration group; established and led MSD Global Strategic Business Intelligence Group as part of MSD Corporate Development Team in MSD HQ, and later assumed the role of VP and Head of Emerging Markets Business Development covering all markets globally ex-North America and EU for strategic partnerships and M&A target identification and evaluations.
He also served as a member of the MSD Emerging Markets Leadership Team (EMLT).
Branimir holds a Medical Doctor (MD) degree with specialization in Neurosurgery, B.A. in Economics – University of Sofia, and Executive MBA – Rutgers University, NJ, USA.
