Patient Centricity

Have you heard the phrase “No decision about me without me”? Do you know what stays behind the term “Patient Centricity”? Patient Centricity is “Putting the patient first in an open and sustained engagement of the patient to respectfully and compassionately achieve the best experience and outcome for that person and their family”. It means designing a treatment, clinical trial, or other health solution centered around the patient. Creating a patient-centric solution involves getting feedback from real patients and their loved ones, and making decisions based on their needs and perspectives. The term can mean different things to different people, but overall, it’s about letting the patient voice drive how the entire healthcare process works. Uniquely – the definition comes not solely from industry, but is driven by the end-user – the patient. The drivers of patient-centricity strategies in the healthcare industry include the consumer demand to participate in decision-making, the movement of personalised medicine, and the patient perspective into R&D, approval and application process. More and more companies have already tried to implement the patient-centric approach. However, the question of how efficiently this transformation happens is often raised. Patient Centricity – what is it and how to get there?

By joining Biotech Atelier 2021 on 30th September 2021 you will join us in exploring the answer to this question and many more in “The Value of Patient Centricity – Why the Patient Voice is Essential” panel. Participants in the session will review patients’ role in the healthcare process, the importance of patient-centric approach and will try to find the formula of success of how to make the patient’s voice essential and more powerful in the future.
