Teodora Todorova

Utilities Expert and Manager

Teodora Todorova is visionary and innovative professional with over 15 years of experience in the utilities sector. She gained her experience both in expert and management roles while working for the largest water operator in Bulgaria (Sofiyska voda) under the concession framework managed by United Utilities up to 2010 and by Veolia Environment since the end of 2010.

Teodora has implemented a transformational project linked with the water and waste water laboratories of the water operator in question, leading to successful accreditation of the labs as well as to implementation of high-tech analytical methods. Passionate about water quality she was in charge of implementing monitoring schemes and best operational practices as well as being responsible for the overall management of the drinking water treatment plants of Sofia at different moments of her career.  She has been balancing the latter of the regulations when it comes to water and waste water methods analysis with the urge of innovation. A professional dream that come too early in time, back in 2010, for implementing PCR methods for raw and drinking water quality analysis and early warning of new microbial species appearing in the complex ecosystems linked with waste water discharge might have turned into a need in the current context.

She holds Master’s degree in Environmental Chemistry from Sofia university and MBA from City University of Seattle and believes in the exceptional role of innovation when it comes to microbiological testing and protecting both human health but also the environment.
